Did you know I am published?

That's right, little ol' Em was published in an art book accompanying the 2008 show, 250 years/250 Artists at FE Gallery. That is still amazing to me years later.

Wow, has it really been almost 2 years since my last post? It has been really hard to update my blog, in the past year I have only done two paintings! I am planning to paint more, show more and blog more! I bought a house in November of 2009, so I been trying to make it my own! Updates soon, if I can stay away from the Housewives shows on Bravo.

Modern Formations' 2009 Spring Salon

Another salon style show with an unbelievable array of art work. This show was packed floor to ceiling with artwork!

Soon I hope to get to painting more often.

Believe me, I want to everyday! But, work and life get in the way. (boo!) Moving every year doesn't help either. Check back again, I want to update this blog more often in the future!

Show at Zombo Gallery! I was a part of the 2nd Annual "Zombo's Big Hang Up" in January of 2009.

It was a great show with a varity of artwork. Zombo is a unique space in Lawrenceville. There is a gallery space, a full screenprinting shop, a DJ /promotions office, and a massage therapy studio. Check out the website!

250 Years/250 Artists

In the Making: 250 Years/250 Artists, is a visual art exhibition celebrating Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary with cutting edge artwork by 250 Pittsburgh area artists (including ME!).

The show is at FE Arts Gallery, 4102 Butler Street, in Lawrenceville. The opening is on September 12th from 7:30-10:30 pm. The show will run through January 10, 2009.

Have you heard of Phil Hansen?

He is an awesome artist that works in a large scale and with crazy mediums. He posts videos and pictures of himself creating the pieces. It is very interesting to see how he creates his artwork.

Small Small Small!

I am creating several pieces for the holiday shop at The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. I usually work much larger than this, so that is a nice change for me. I am also using materials I haven't used before, such as cigar boxes, paint chips and a few other surprises. Enough talk, here are the pictures!

Frida Kahlo was born today, July 7th in 1907.

She is one of my favorite artists. I recommend looking at her paintings, reading about her life or seeing the movie "Frida" if you aren't familar with her already.

These two crazy kids are getting hitched in June. They are two of my favorite people. I am so excited that they found each other! I am painting them something for their wedding gift. Can't give any more details than that, they might look at this!
